When I saw the opportunity to work with Old English Company, I jumped at the chance and was thrilled to receive an email back from them. I really wanted to showcase them on my blog as I love their products so much! They sell a large range of products, from stationery to homewares, mugs to cards! I am OBSESSED!

I figured I would make a little list of my favourite picks from their site and this was super difficult to do since I love all of their products so much! At the end of my picks is the link to a competition which they are holding, in which you can win a complete set of their lovely planners!

Enamel Pins

I wanted to start with their enamel pins since I collect pins on my denim jacket and I love all of theirs! They are gorgeous! I have never seen a shop with so many enamel pin designs that I really want to purchase! I am very picky usually but these are all lovely and I want all of them!

Makeup Pouches

Old English Company's collection of makeup pouches is super cute and I am so tempted by all of them! I have picked out two faves and I will definitely be picking up one of these to use as my toiletry pouch in my uni bag!

Notebooks

Perhaps the most exciting part of the website for me is their selection of notebooks! I am an absolute planning fiend and I have several notebooks on the go at once, each with a different purpose! I am definitely eyeing up a few items in this collection!

The Competition

Old English Company currently have a competition running for World Stationery Day, in which you can win a set of their gorgeous planners! The link to enter is HERE and the competition closes on 25th April 2018! The planners pictured below are the ones you could win. Look how beautiful they are! I'm especially in love with the black planner with pearlescent writing on the cover, I think it's the nicest planner I've ever seen!

What are your favourite items from this selection and have you entered the competition yet? x

So, who says that cheap skincare is not great? Superdrug own-brand skincare is super cheap and SO good! They have loads of different skincare ranges so there are products for every skin-type and an almost overwhelming amount of choice! I have a few products from the Calm Skin, Vitamin E and Naturally Radiant ranges and none have disappointed! I'm organising this post by range because they vary in skin-type and aim between the ranges.

Calm Skin

The Calm Skin range is a fairly new (I think) addition to the Superdrug skincare family and I was super excited to find it in my local shop. This range aims to soothe the skin and get rid of the visible signs of stress on the skin. I have only picked up a couple items from this range but I am thoroughly impressed and want to pick up more!

Calm Skin Soothing Facial Wash

This facial wash is only £2.99 and it's amazing, plus you get a good amount for your money! The cleanser is quite thick and lathers onto the face nicely. After removing it with a washcloth my skin feels so soft and clean and I love it!

Calm Skin Balancing Facial Oil

This facial oil is lovely! I was super hesitant to use an oil on my face, thinking that it'll tip the scales on my combination skin and turn me into a permanent oil slick. However, it settles into the skin wonderfully and definitely helps to balance my complexion and banish red patches on my face! Plus, it's only £2.99 too!

Vitamin E

The Vitamin E range is marketed as rich in antioxidants and is supposed to protect the skin from pollution and environmental damage. As a girl with sensitive skin who lives in the city, preventing pollution from messing with my skin is super important to me, which is why I was keen to give this range a go!

Vitamin E Refreshing Toning Mist

This was the first product I picked up from the Vitamin E range, looking for an alternative to the Mario Badescu spray. Lo-and-behold, this stuff is lovely!! It smells delightful (reminds me a bit of sunscreen) and sinks into the skin wonderfully! It's £2.99 and, in my opinion, is as good as facial sprays which are more than double the price!

Another item from this range that I picked up was the exfoliating facial scrub. Superdrug had a 3 for 2 offer and this was the freebie that I had picked up, but it's usually £2.99. This stuff is wonderful! I love an exfoliator with a lot of bead in it and this is packed full of little oatmeal beads. It feels abrasive without being harsh and that's exactly what I look for in an exfoliator, and I actually prefer this one to some of the more high-end skincare products I've used!

This stuff is magical for removing stubborn makeup! You just shake it up, pop a bit on a cotton pad and wipe off your makeup. It's wonderful and, like the rest of the range, it smells wonderful! Like the other products, this is only £2.99 which is insane for how good the quality of the product is! Even stubborn eye makeup comes straight off!

Naturally Radiant

This range was the first one I tried out of the three mentioned in this post! The prices in this range are a bit higher than the others but more often than not, Superdrug have some great offers on them! For example, I always stuck up if they're lower than half price! These products are supposed to even out skin tone and revive the skin's radiance!

This is the first hot cloth cleanser I have ever tried and I love it! It's got a lovely thick consistency and feels luxurious to apply! Once removed with a cloth, this leaves my skin feeling so smooth and soft! This was my go-to cleanser for a long time in my first year of uni and I picked it up again the other week when it was on offer and I was reminded of why I loved it so much! It's a reasonable £5.99 but, as I have already said, is often on offer for way cheaper!

This is by far my favourite product on this list and I have been using it for over a year now! It's a lovely serum which sinks into the skin super easily, making it perfect for use during the day. It's £5.99 when not discounted and it is worth every penny! Every time I use it, my skin feels incredibly smooth and like i've just had a really good facial. It also smells delightful which is a massive bonus!

Naturally Radiant Brightening Eye Cream

I always struggle to find a good budget eye cream but I think I have finally found one! This eye cream is lovely to apply and sinks into the skin wonderfully! I love how brightening it is (mostly because I have the biggest eye bags known to man) and that Naturally Radiant product scent! It's £5.99 when it's not on offer, which is way cheaper than most eye creams I have seen out there!

Have you tried any of these products? What did you think and what would you recommend? x

Lush is great! From the company ethics and ingredients to the products themselves, Lush is great! I have been using Lush products for years now and I have loved pretty much everything I have tried! Not even joking, I have not had a single bad Lush experience! In fact, once I met Michelle Visage in a Lush store so I guess I have the best experiences with Lush! (She was absolutely wonderful and bought a bath bomb I recommended)!!

Over the years, I have tried a wide variety of Lush products and i'm going to share them with you now! I don't have all of them currently (I don't have unlimited Lush funds, unfortunately) but I have photographed everything I can and I will link everything so you can check out the products on the Lush website!

Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter

Listen up! This stuff is magical! I often neglect my cuticles but whenever I use this they appear instantly replenished! It's a miracle! This little tub of lemony goodness also lasts forever because a little goes a very long way! It's not just for your cuticles too! This stuff works super well on the dry skin just about anywhere. In fact, I love to use it on my elbows when they get all dry and flakey! I love Lush potted products too because once you are done with the product, you can give 5 clean pots to your local Lush store and get a free fresh face mask!

Speaking of fresh face masks, BB Seaweed is the first on this list! It's a lovely mask full of great ingredients such as seaweed and calming aloe vera. It removes the excess oil from your skin and gently exfoliates, leaving your face feeling super soft and clean! This was the first fresh mask I bought from Lush and it's safe to say that it got me hooked on their skincare products! Bonus points for the fact that you feel like Shrek when you wear the green lumpy mask.

Tea Tree Toner Water

This toner is a more recent fave. It's a toner spray so it's super quick and simple to throw it on your face to freshen it up! It sinks into the skin super quickly and fights the oil and redness which I usually experience on my face surprisingly amazingly! I prefer this facial spray to any others I have used and I intend to keep repurchasing it once it has run out!

Cosmetic Warrior

At first, I was super hesitant to try this mask. It contains garlic and I was super sure that it would leave me feeling like I had just covered my face with aioli. However, this mask doesn't smell strongly of garlic and is an absolute wonder for oily and spotty skin! When I have a ton of deadlines or exams on the way, I pick up a pot of this mask to combat the stress breakouts and it does a world of good! It leaves my face feeling super clean and refreshed and really fights the breakouts well! Definitely my favourite mask!

Sleepy Body Lotion

Sleepy is a wonderful body lotion which smells strongly of lavender and tonka. When I am having a restless night, I rub this lotion over my arms or just my forearms and the smell sends me to sleep so nicely! It feels wonderful and I cannot emphasise enough how good it smells! No wonder it is so highly rated!

Intergalactic Bath Bomb

This is the prettiest and freshest bath bomb I have ever tried! It strongly smells of peppermint and cedarwood which wakes up the senses, clears the sinuses and leaves you feeling so refreshed and clean! It is a blue explosion of glitter in the bath and is such a special treat! I used to use this one weekly after a couple of weekend shifts working in a fast food restaurant kitchen. It was the only way I could feel fresh and not paranoid about smelling like the food I had been cooking all weekend!

Twilight Body Spray

I had wanted this spray for months and months! The other week when I was feeling like crap and wanted to treat myself, I finally bought it and WOW was it worth it! It smells strongly of lavender (my favourite scent) and tonka and leaves me feeling so relaxed! It would work great before bed but I love the smell too much so I wear this all day every day! It has great staying power and pretty much clings to all of my clothes! A definite favourite!

Whoosh Shower Jelly

In my first year at university, I lived in halls of residence and had an ensuite shower and no bath. I wanted to still treat myself to some Lush goodness so I picked up this shower jelly. And then I repurchased it again and again! This stuff smells so good, very citrusy! It is perfect in the mornings before uni when you just need to get up and go, feeling energised and refreshed as you jump out of the shower!

H'Suan Wen Hua Hair Treatment

This hard-to-pronounce hair mask is a miracle! My hair has been damaged and lacklustre for so long but since I switched up my hair routine, including this and switching out my usual shampoo and conditioner, my hair is so different! After using this, my hair feels so much more healthy and sleek. Plus, it's easier to brush and way less high maintenance! As I said, this stuff is a miracle! It smells lovely and spicy, with hints of cinnamon!

Twilight Bath Bomb

A classic! This was the first Lush product I ever picked up! It smells, as you can expect from my previous faves, like lavender and tonka and makes your bathwater look like a beautiful galaxy of purple! Plus, it's so glittery! It looks magical! A bath in this is perfect on a restless night or after a long day when you just need to have a proper relax!

Helping Hands Hand Cream

I started using this hand cream when I was working in the fast food restaurant and was washing my hands SO much all the time! Even after work because I felt gross! This hand cream is intensively moisturising and it was originally made with nurses in mind! It takes a little while to sink in and I usually use it at night before bed, with Lemony Flutter on my cuticles so I wake up with lovely soft and moisturised hands!

My Lush Wishlist

These are the products from Lush that I am aching to try next!:

Thank you for reading! Let me know what you think of the products I have mentioned and what your faves are! x

Before work one Saturday morning, I popped into The Body Shop in the centre of Manchester to scope out the remainder of their sales! I stumbled upon this little £5 gem and my curiosity got the better of me! I had to try it! It's the Red Musk Perfume Oil! I immediately wanted to know what perfume oil is and how it could be any better than regular perfume. Apparently, perfume oil is a longer-lasting and more concentrated perfume. Also, I have to rave about the fact that the Body Shop use manmade cruelty-free musk in their fragrances!

On the Body Shop website, the scent is described as "an intense drop of spiced musk with hot notes of cinnamon and tobacco". This is definitely accurate, it is a gorgeous deep musky scent which feels very sophisticated and grown up. It is not a traditionally feminine scent, but it doesn't quite come across as masculine at the same time. The bottle is a small red glass bottle with a screw-on lid. Within the lid is a small glass rod which picks up the oil for easy and mess-free application. It is a wonderful-looking little bottle and I also love the little red box that it comes in!

In terms of lasting power, this stuff really does stay on all day! I dab a few drops on my pulse points and neck (a little goes a long way) and I can still smell it hours later! I am obsessed with this stuff and considering buying more while it's still available and in the sales! Even thinking about buying the big eau de toilette just because the scent is so so good!

Have you tried this scent? Do you know of any similar perfumes as I am beginning to think that this is how I want to smell all the time for the rest of my days? Thank you so much for reading! xo

After umming and ahhing for months, I finally bought the 'The Rusts' palette from Lottie London! I have been lusting after this for so long and I am so excited that I finally caved and bought it!

First of all, I am in love with this packaging! The shape of it is easy to fit in my smaller 'essentials' makeup bag without taking up too much space and it feels sturdy and not at all flimsy! I also love that it is transparent so I can see what shades I have available to me when I'm trying to quickly put together a makeup looks (as I am normally in a massive rush to throw on my makeup).

The shade range in this palette is great! It includes 12 shades and a good mixture of both shimmery and matte eyeshadows! They are mostly very warm-toned, which I was looking for in a palette and I am loving right now! The colour payoff from these shadows is super great, especially for the shimmery shadows! I am so impressed by the quality of these eyeshadows! The two lightest shades take a bit of building up to be seen properly but are nice for a more subtle look! While they do not exactly match up to some of my higher-end shadows, they are so impressive for a palette that is just £9.95!

The stand-outs in this palette have to be the shimmery shadows! They are absolutely stunning and perfect for a range of looks this holiday season! At just £9.95, this palette is way worth its price and has quickly become a staple in my makeup bag! It can be found at Superdrug or ASOS in the UK and on the ULTA website in the US.

Monday, 6 November 2017

I'm normally the girl with short, cracked and badly painted nails, something I am pretty fed up of. I'm a busy student who works all weekend and doesn't really have the time or patience to spend much time on fixing my nails. As a quick fix, I decided to give false nails a go and wanted to start as cheap as possible.

Primark has a massive selection of nails in all different shapes, colours and finishes. I was in Primark on Monday afternoon and figured I would grab a pack and I settled on the 'Squareletto Matte' nails in the colour 'Antique Stone'. The pack comes with 24 nails and a small tube of adhesive and the colour is a beautiful beige nude.

The 'Squareletto' nails are a lovely shape but super super long and as someone who is used to having pretty much no nails at all, it takes some getting used to. However, it's not an issue most of the time. The adhesive that comes with these nails has really surprised me the most! It is actually really good and is pretty strong! I'm impressed! The nails were really easy and quick to apply and the glue set very quickly. Once set, these nails do not budge and I have only had to re-glue a nail once since putting them on yesterday! (update: I kept these on for 5 days before soaking them off, but they could have easily stayed on for longer)

I am steadily becoming obsessed with this range of nails and have already gone back to Primark for more! I have found that the almond-shaped nails are best for me due to the fact that i'm not used to very long nails and also because I work in retail on a shop floor so I am constantly opening boxes and putting out stock and I can see very long nails getting in the way of that for me. These are the 'Almond' nails in 'Shameless':

These nails are significantly shorter than the 'squareletto' nails and are a wonderful plum colour. I am in love with these nails! They survived a weekend at work so I am more than impressed! I will definitely be buying more nails in this shape as they are super wearable and I love that they are pointed subtly, a shape that I have never had on my nails before! Since wearing both sets of nails I have received loads of compliments and people can't believe that I only paid £1 for these! I would totally recommend Primark nails for anyone starting out with false nails and whoever wants to get great nails for a super low price!
