It's about time I made another makeup post on here! I thought I would share all the products I have been loving lately as I have been getting back into putting makeup on and feeling fabulous! I hope that you enjoy reading these little recommendations!

Base

Revolution Conceal and Define Foundation & Concealer

For me, these were the ultimate makeup discoveries of the year! I finally found a shade range with tones pale enough for my face! I long suffered the eternal struggle of buying the lightest shade of a foundation I wanted to try, putting it on my face and it not even remotely matching my skin tone. These are the only foundation and concealer products which I have been using for many months now and I don't see myself changing up my base routine any time soon! The coverage level is EVERYTHING too! They make my skin look flawless, even when it's blotchy and breaking out beneath the makeup in those stressful times!

You can buy the foundation from Superdrug HERE, Beauty Bay HERE
You can buy the concealer from Superdrug HERE, Beauty Bay HERE

Cheeks

Tarte Skin Twinkle Lighting Palette Volume 2

I managed to swipe this palette up in TK Maxx for an absolute bargain and I have been using it non-stop since! Skylight is the perfect highlight shade for my complexion and I use it to highlight my cheekbones, brow bone and the inner corner of my eyeshadow looks! It's very pigmented and leaves me looking lovely and glowy! Plus, the product itself smells amazing and the packaging is beautiful since it's a part of the Rainforest of the Sea collection!

You can buy the palette from Tarte HERE

Sleek Blush in Antique and Sleek Face Contour Kit in Light

You know what? My mum was right! I needed to wear more blush! I was so scared of blush since I figured it would show up so bright on my pale skin, so I was so happy when I found a blush that isn't a shade of pink or peach! This browny blush matches my everyday makeup so nicely and I love how it looks! Another product I struggled to find which wouldn't overpower my face was a good contouring powder. This Sleek one is light enough to not look OTT but still dark enough to give me a well-defined contour!

You can buy the blush from Boots HERE

Eyes

Nip + Fab Eyeshadow Palette 02 - Fired Up

Rusty shades have been an absolute must and this palette has been one of my best makeup purchases over the whole of 2018, that's how much I get my use out of it! It's packed with 12 beautiful buildable blendable shades straight out of my dreams! When I visited home for a few weeks, this was the only palette I felt the need to take! It's just so versatile for both every day and special occasions and I love it so much!

You can buy this palette from Lookfantastic (sale) HERE, Superdrug (sale) HERE and ASOS HERE

Lips

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Allegedly and Leo

The lighting is making these shades look the same but I SWEAR Leo is darker than Allegedly! Allegedly is a beautiful terracotta brown lipstick which has been my perfect everyday shade! I had really wanted a lovely orange-toned brown lipstick and this one is perfect. Leo shows up a bit darker on my lips and therefore has been my go-to evening lipstick for cocktail nights! As always with Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks, the staying power of these is insane! I will wear Allegedly all day without a single retouch and it will still look perfect! I have yet to find a lipstick formula which I love more than these and I'm happy that my little collection is growing!

You can buy Allegedly on Beauty Bay HERE

What products have you been loving lately? Any recommendations for makeup which I should try? x

Autumn is well and truly underway and I am thriving! Not only have I been loving the chilly weather and reason to wrap up warm, but I have also been loving the changing leaves and early evenings! Autumn is truly the best season of the year! Since I'm loving writing these conversational posts lately, I figured I would chat about all the best things about autumn!

Atmosphere and colours

The LEAVES! As soon as the first leaf turns orange I feel so excited and anticipatory about the coming change of seasons! I grew up living near a patch of woods and those autumn walks were everything to me! I love the colours all around during autumn, and the fallen leaves making even the dingiest paths look lovely! The weather may be cold but the colours are warm and inviting! I feel like there is a buzz in the air in Autumn. It's no longer summer and everyone has gone back to their daily grind, not quite tired of it yet! This is especially evident on the campus of my university! Everybody is making the most of being back and settling into another academic year!

Clothes

Autumn is peak fashion time for me! I am at my most stylish and confident at this time of year! The jackets and scarves are layered without being overbearing, and I can hide my bad hair days with a beret or beanie. Life is good. I've been wearing all those autumnal warm colours and loving all the purchases I have made lately, especially from New Look! Photoshoots are also incredibly lovely in autumn since the backdrop of the leaves is always exceedingly beautiful!

Dress: New Look, top: New Look, tights and socks: Primark, coat: Primark, boots: Dr Martens

 Makeup

The weather is finally chilly enough for me to not feel like I'm going to sweat off all my foundation by midday and I love it! I have never been a lover of wearing foundation. I feel like most foundations make my face even greasier than it always is, and I can just never find a shade that perfectly fits my pale face! However, this month I have started using the new Revolution Conceal and Define Foundation and it has really been a game changer for me! I wear makeup almost every day, I feel super confident and I actually enjoy getting ready in the mornings!

Let's talk about incorporating those autumnal colours into your makeup looks! Any other time of the year, I use my Naked 3 palette nonstop, but in autumn I gravitate back to more rusty coloured eyeshadows! They are so flattering and make me feel so confident when I step out of the flat! Plus, every time I wear a brown-ish lipstick I feel like Dana Scully from the X-Files.

Weather

I hate warm weather with a burning passion (pardon the pun). I despise being all hot and sweaty, it just makes me feel disgusting! What I do like is cold weather where I can wrap up warm and keep cosy! Rainy days are the greatest, too! Whether I'm out and about under an umbrella or indoors looking out at the rain, I love it! It relaxes me so much!

Coffee

Making the switch from iced coffee to hot coffee is magical! There's nothing quite like being out in the cold and sipping on a hot drink. The way it warms you inside is just the best feeling! I have been sipping those cappuccinos, and the occasional PSL, like my life depends on it. I should really cut down on my caffeine consumption considering how dependent I am on it, but it's just so good!

What are your fave things about autumn?x

Hello! January has finally come to a close! After what feels like the longest month in the history of the universe, it's time to write another favourites post! It has been a very stressful month and these favourites have helped me to pull through and have pretty much kept me going! I hope that you enjoy this list and I would love to know what your faves were this month!

The beauty products...

I'll mention my beauty faves first since this month has brought me a new skincare routine, some pretty new eyeshadows and some new faves!

I have been lusting after the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette* for so long, since it came out really! I have been umm-ing and ahh-ing for years and I finally own it! This has been my go-to palette all month and I am so glad that I finally snapped it up when it was on sale! I adore all the colours in this palette and the eyeshadows are such great quality! Possibly even my favourite palette of all time!

Another item I finally got to try this month was The Ordinary 100% Plant-Derived Squalane*. This is a concentrated moisturising product and it is super easy to use! I apply a few drops every night before bed and after cleansing and I have noticed a change in my skin's texture almost immediately! My face feels smoother and more hydrated, which is super nice! A little goes a long way and this product lasts ages and is very reasonably priced at £5.50 from ASOS*!

The food...

I don't normally include food on these lists but I feel like i've had some incredible meals this month and I have found quite a few new faves! First, I want to talk about somewhere I ate out at recently! I finally went to Northern Soul Grilled Cheese in Manchester (near the Arndale) and I am so glad that I did! I had the simplest grilled cheese that they do and it was still the best grilled cheese I have ever had! It's also pretty affordable so I will definitely be back there soon!

This month I also discovered more veggie sweets! I have been looking for great gelatine-free sweets (other than percy pigs) and I think I have found my favourites! One sweet I was most hopeful to find was a good veggie peach rings alternative and I have found that Goody Good Stuff summer peaches are the BEST! Honestly, I love everything about them! Their texture is perfect and they taste so good! The cola bottles from Free From Fellows are also so so yummy! I have never liked cola bottles but I love these!

The reading...

This month I have rekindled my love for magazines! In particular, I am absolutely in love with Womankind magazine! The range of topics they cover is so good, I love to have a lot of variety in what I am reading so this magazine is such a breath of fresh air! Their website is also definitely worth a visit, it's full of great and interesting content!

I have also begun to collect Do/ books. They cover a wide variety of topics and they are so well layed out and visually striking! They are quick and easy reads but contain so much insight and wisdom! The fact that they are written by a variety of authors is also super appealing because they have introduced me to new influential people and I love that! The Do company also run talks and lectures and have a massive range of topics covered so there is definitely something for everyone! If you like TED talks then definitely check these out!

The miscellaneous...

Another month, another favourite podcast! Get It On with Dawn O'Porter is a witty and interesting podcast about fashion with some fab guest interviews, including Dermot O'Leary, Chris O'Dowd and Dawn French! It is such a joy to listen to!

My boyfriend took me to see The Greatest Showman in January and I completely fell in love with the soundtrack! The film is stunning BUT the soundtrack is the real selling point! It is so beautiful and fun to sing along to! Even if you don't see the film, give the soundtrack a listen to on Spotify! Trust me!

In January, Fall Out Boy released their latest album, Mania! I have listened to it more than anything else this month, even though it wasn't released until the 19th. It just gets me so ready to tackle the day! It's mostly upbeat which is why I listen to it whilst walking to uni every morning or doing my work! Stay Frosty Royal Milk Tea is my new fave song!

Other albums I have been listening to this month include:
  • Dua Lipa - Dua Lipa
  • The Family Jewels - Marina and the Diamonds
  • Controversy - Prince
  • Ruins - First Aid Kit
  • Stoney - Post Malone
  • The Pale Emperor - Marilyn Manson
  • Ride The Lightning - Metallica

Finally, this month I have totally rekindled my love of writing! I have loved posting to this blog and putting my own content out there! I feel so proud of everything I have put up on this lil internet space and I am so thankful for the friendships this has led me to make and for the feedback I have recieved from you all! Writing has become so therapeutic for me and my counsellor has even given me a space of time in which to not visit her to see how I get on! Writing has honestly done more for my mental health than any therapy (although my meds are also so helpful and are probably the reason I am able to pluck up the courage to put myself across on this platform)!

I think that's everything I wanted to mention! As always, thanks for reading! I am hoping to get back on track with queueing up posts after having a little rest after exams! Thanks for your patience and lovely support lately! x

For years I have been trying to find my style. I was an emo in high school, a bit more experimental in college (hello rose gold fake docs and cute short hair) and now I'm a bit all over the place. I feel that now I'm in my twenties (oh goodness), I should really pin down a style or at least be consistent in my apparel!

I bet you're wondering if I dug up some old photos for the sake of this post... Yes, I did. The things I do for you! The first image was taken in September 2013 and the second was taken in January 2016. To be fair, I do really miss having short hair sometimes, I loved it so much!

This post will be a few musings on my personal style, a wishlist and a compilation of my favourite bloggers/YouTubers/celebrities who I look up to in terms of style.

My style

So, I've gone through so many different phases and looks that my style is all over the place! Recently, I have been super busy and so have been opting more for comfort than anything else. I live in black jeggings and baggy jumpers. In terms of makeup and beauty, I have been neglecting my face a bit. This has left me feeling pretty unconfident and uncomfortable in my skin. I want to make more of an effort in my day-to-day appearance as I feel so much more confident and ready to tackle the world when I am well dressed and have even minimal makeup on! I feel most confident in a comfortable but classic outfit, well dressed from head to toe but also snug, warm and unrestricted by my clothing. A sneaky jegging, a warm jacket, a high-neck jumper, and a coat of mascara. In 2018 (I cannot believe it's already here) I hope to build up somewhat of a capsule wardrobe. To find a way to look good and dress well on my student budget!

Wishlist

This wishlist is full of beautiful pieces which I mostly cannot afford. It is a list of items I would either like to buy or like to find a cheaper dupe of...

Inspiration

How could I kick off a list of the ladies that inspire me without mentioning Anna from The Anna Edit??  Her classic style is timeless and she makes it appear effortless! The style section of her website is my constant source of inspiration, as well as her Instagram feed and YouTube videos.

Another blogger who's style I absolutely adore is Samantha Maria. I have enjoyed her YouTube videos and blog for years and I have loved watching her style evolve.

I love Keira Knightley's street style. Even when in baggy jeans or the comfiest clothes, she still looks classy and elegant. I do not understand this sorcery but I would love to be able to look as put together as her all the time!

Get It On is a podcast by Dawn O'Porter. It features chats about fashion with many household names and successful people, male and female! Her list of awesome guests include Dermot O'Leary, Amanda Palmer, Jameela Jamil, and the fabulous Dawn French (my ultimate hero)! Dawn is a wonderful host and the interviews are fun, enlightening, and often hilarious! I would definitely recommend as it gives me so much insight into the fashion of others and provides a bit of inspiration!

Finally, Fearne Cotton has an amazing style! Her Insta feed is full of cute and quirky outfits and garments and her outfits on the red carpet are to die for! Dressed up or dressed down, she always looks effortless and incredibly stylish!

Thanks for reading! Who are your style inspirations?

After umming and ahhing for months, I finally bought the 'The Rusts' palette from Lottie London! I have been lusting after this for so long and I am so excited that I finally caved and bought it!

First of all, I am in love with this packaging! The shape of it is easy to fit in my smaller 'essentials' makeup bag without taking up too much space and it feels sturdy and not at all flimsy! I also love that it is transparent so I can see what shades I have available to me when I'm trying to quickly put together a makeup looks (as I am normally in a massive rush to throw on my makeup).

The shade range in this palette is great! It includes 12 shades and a good mixture of both shimmery and matte eyeshadows! They are mostly very warm-toned, which I was looking for in a palette and I am loving right now! The colour payoff from these shadows is super great, especially for the shimmery shadows! I am so impressed by the quality of these eyeshadows! The two lightest shades take a bit of building up to be seen properly but are nice for a more subtle look! While they do not exactly match up to some of my higher-end shadows, they are so impressive for a palette that is just £9.95!

The stand-outs in this palette have to be the shimmery shadows! They are absolutely stunning and perfect for a range of looks this holiday season! At just £9.95, this palette is way worth its price and has quickly become a staple in my makeup bag! It can be found at Superdrug or ASOS in the UK and on the ULTA website in the US.
