So, exams are FINALLY over! I am so relieved, it feels like such a weight off my chest. The day after my final exam, I took a day's holiday from work and went into town with my lovely friend to do some bank account damage! We both agreed that this is our last major spending day in a long time as we both need to save some money so we kind of went all out! Here are the goodies that I picked up!

Firstly, I thought I would throw this into the haul because I am super excited about it! I have been raving about the last issue of Womankind magazine since I first picked it up and I have been eagerly awaiting the next issue and HERE IT IS! I am so excited to read this! I am in love with this magazine due to its range of topics and informative articles! I picked my copy up from WHSmith for £3.99.

All of these goodies are from Primark! I picked up a sheet mask, rose shower jelly, moisturising skin oil (cheap Bio Oil dupe??) and some more lovely earrings! They are all cheap and cheerful and i'm super excited to try out that rose shower jelly, it smells delightful!

Pusheen goodies! I have somehow rekindled my love for everything Pusheen and I picked up a few bits and pieces! The socks are from Primark and I think they are just the cutest things! I bought the boxes from Scribbler in Manchester for 75% off! Super chuffed! I want to cook more and take food to uni and I can't wait to use these boxes.

I have also wanted these books for ages and I finally FINALLY got them. Nasty Women is a collection of essays and We Should All Be Feminists is a feminist essay. I'm really getting back into feminist literature and I really wanted to read more essays, I just feel like there is so much I have yet to learn and so much I need to read! Nasty Women was £8.99 from Waterstones and We Should All Be Feminists was £5 from Waterstones

I just had to go to Lush! I picked up a lovely chunk of Honey I Washed The Kids soap, an all-time fave. It smells so good and lasts so long! Going to cut off a good chunk to sit on my sink. I also decided to try out the Tea Tree Water toner water since I have heard good things and my skin is awful right now! Hoping it will help me to combat my stress spots!

How cute is this bag?? It was only £6 from Primark and is super cute! Recently I have been loving anything red so I was super excited to pick this up! Plus it's super fit for valentines and will look super cute on date night!

Finally, I picked up these three gems from Primark! This fluffy pillow is so cute and really nice quality and was only £3!! I bought this bath mat for £6 and I am using it as a rug at the end of my bed. I just love the look of it! Finally, this throw blanket which was in the background of all these photos was just £4 and is super soft!

I hope you enjoyed this lil post! Let me know what you have picked up lately! xo

I've never been one for spending a lot in the sales, however this year I got paid just before Christmas and i've got a bit of extra money from overtime. I didn't go mad but I got some really lovely items which I have been lusting after for quite some time. I've worked hard this year and I decided, what the hell, I deserve a treat!

The Debenhams Sale

I was so tempted to go absolutely wild on the Debenhams sale but I managed to contain myself and only pick up a couple of items which I know I will use lots and cherish!

First, I immediately put the Naked 3 palette into my online shopping basket. I have owned a dupe of this palette and I used it to DEATH so I knew that I would get this palette eventually, I was just waiting for it to go on offer. That day is finally here and I bought this palette for £27.65. Still expensive but this is an investment I am willing to make at this point, after wanting this palette for so long! It is so beautiful!

I also decided to invest in the perfect red lipstick! I have never been brave enough to wear red lipstick but I decided that this year, I'm pushing myself and I might try to pluck up the confidence to wear a red lip! I picked up the Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick in the shade Chula for £10! I fell in love with it when I saw it online and figured it would be the perfect red lipstick for me! I fell in love even more when I put it on, it compliments my skin so well and looks better on me than any other red lipstick i've tried! In fact, I wore it on an afternoon out with my family and I felt FANTASTIC!

Amazon

I have wanted the Leon Fast Vegetarian cookbook for SO LONG! I went vegetarian 2 years ago (almost exactly) and I've since been eyeing up this cookbook but figured £25 is too much money! However, it was just £10 on Boxing Day and I bought it within seconds of seeing it, and then did a happy dance and maybe shed a happy tear. I was pretty much sat in front of the door all morning the next day waiting for my Amazon package. It did not disappoint! One of my new year's resolutions is to home-cook more meals and I've already started bookmarking all the meals I want to try from this book! I am so excited!

ASDA

I stocked up on lip balms from ASDA, as I always do in the sales. I was there doing my shopping and I just quickly picked up the Nivea Luscious Lips tin for £2, which includes the Original Care lip balm, Caring Red lip butter, Pearly Shine lip balm, and the Blueberry Blush lip butter.

Superdrug

Finally, I was in town the other day and picked up the All Four You fragrance set by Zoella Beauty. I've always been curious about these body mists and i've wanted to try them out for ages so when I saw this set on offer I immediately took it to the tills. I paid £6.99 and you get four little mini fragrances. I am in love with the Bake My Day fragrance, it smells exactly like gingerbread and it's so comforting and lovely.

Did you manage to pick up any good bargains in the sales?

Thursday, 14 December 2017

I have been going a bit mad recently and I have picked up a number of Christmas presents for myself. Just a few bits and pieces that I have been meaning to try for a while. Here is what I have picked up and what my opinions are. This is mostly books and beauty, as this seems to be what I treat myself to most!

Lush Sleepy Lotion

I finally did it! I got Sleepy from Lush and oh my goodness I am in love! Twilight Bath Bomb has been a firm favourite of mine for years and I wish I could just keep the scent with me in one form or another all the time! Lavender is my favourite scent and sends me straight to sleep at night! Every night I put this lotion on my arms and jump into bed. I cannot stress how incredible this stuff smells!

The consistency of this lotion is so wonderful and it sinks into the skin so wonderfully. I am hooked!!!

Primark £8 Perfume??

Yes, perfume from Primark. I was sceptical and cautious buying this but I needed a perfume and had very little money in my bank account. I bought the Mandarin & Basil fragrance and it smells heavenly! The perfume range that this belongs to is supposed to be filled with dupes for Jo Malone fragrances and is such good value for money!

The bottle for this perfume is so simplistic and lovely looking and the scent is so nice! It stays fairly well considering its price point!

Scrunchies

I know, I'm super late to the party but I kind of love scrunchies! I bought this three pack from Primark on a whim and I have worn them non-stop since then. I find them way more comfortable than normal hair ties and I feel that they damage my hair way less. Considering how busy I have been lately and how much I've been tying my hair back to do work, these have been a lifesaver!

1995 lipstick - Urban Decay

In the words of my best friend, 'this is a Jessica shade'. I am completely stuck on brown lipstick shades and I probably own every variety of this lipstick colour. That being said, this is the PERFECT Jess shade. It is dark and dramatic without washing me out, which is great because I am so pale. Its staying power is the stuff of dreams and I rarely have to reapply it through the day. I would love to pick up a few more of these lipsticks and I am already eyeing up a few shades!

ELF 'Tea Rose' Matte Lip Colour

This is wonderful! The brown-nude colour is so wonderful and flattering and it has a wonderful finish! The pencil style packaging allows such easy application and easy touch-ups too. I can't wait to have more chance to wear this as I have been so lazy with my makeup lately due to crippling deadlines!

NYX 'Intuition' blush

Technically, this isn't a new purchase. But it is a repurchase so it totally counts! I was so upset when my NYX 'Intuition' blush broke in my makeup back and I had to immediately go to Boots and buy another as this is the only blush I ever use.

This blush is the most beautiful colour and it has the perfect amount of shimmer in it without being over the top. It works wonderfully to add a subtle flush of colour to my cheeks and I don't see any other blush beating this for me!

Micellar cleansing pads - Primark

Primark has stepped up their beauty game recently! These cleansing pads are so great for a lazy busy gal like myself! I grab these instead of my usual cleanser when it's been a particularly long day and I just want to quickly wipe over my face and go straight to bed. They don't have a strong scent which is great and there's plenty of pads in the pot to last for ages! At £2 they are also a bit of a bargain!

How To Be Parisian Wherever You Are - Sophie Mas, Audrey Diwan, Caroline De Maigret, Anne Berest

This book is hilarious! It is a witty and charming book about habits, styles and quirks of women and it was an absolute joy to read! It's so well written and beautifully presented, with wonderful photography and structure. I chuckled out loud so many times while reading this book, I enjoyed it so much!

Primark hat

Yes, I'm putting a hat on this list. But, to be fair, I have been wearing it CONSTANTLY. It's a simple grey chunky knitted hat from Primark but it is so cosy and warm and it has been my saviour lately! I walk quite a long way to uni every day first thing in the morning when everything is iced over. All I had was some not-so-cosy beanie hats so I finally picked up a cosy knitted hat. This is so big and cute and I love it so much! There are many colours available but I got the simple grey hat so I can wear it with whatever.

Wednesday, 22 November 2017

This weekend was a long, frustrating rollercoaster of co-workers calling in sick and a very busy retail job. Coupled with deadlines, this weekend was utter torture. By Sunday afternoon, I was so ready for some much deserved retail therapy!

Working in Primark means I have had my eye on these purchases for quite some time and so I rushed around the store knowing exactly what I wanted and where I would find it.

I am kicking off this haul with some socks because they are incredible. Honestly, I mostly work on the sock section and have wanted these since they first arrived in store! They come as a set of three but I couldn't stop myself from wearing the other pair of socks immediately, but trust me when I say that they are beautiful!

This backpack was only £9 and is my new university bag! It fits my laptop and all my cables and lunch in it despite looking fairly compact! It has a magnetic bag clasp and can be pulled shut with a cord so it feels fairly secure. It does only have one big compartment but other than that, I love it a lot!

These black boots were £16 which I was hesitant to spend in Primark but these boots are so so good and comfy. They're my new everyday boots and I love them to pieces!

This pyjama shirt is so comfy and oversized! It was £8 and I absolutely adore it! It's soft and light and really cute!

More socks! A bit boring but essential and cute! Both £2.50!

Finally... The real reason for the shopping trip! I have been coveting this massive sweater since it arrived in stores and i'm so happy that I finally own it! It's £12 from the men's section and it is my new favourite item of clothing!

Thanks for reading!
